ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Review

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world.

Today I have a review of the very popular Ultra Matte Lips and Lip Pencils from the extremely hyped brand ColourPop! I've already reviewed the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks and now I have the ColourPop ones that I'm going to compare and let you know which of the two I prefer.

ColourPop is hugely hyped in the beauty Youtube and Blogging community, everyone and their mother owns or has tried at least one product from them! The Ultra Matte Lips, are one of their best selling and popular products, as matte lips are very in right now and have been for a while.

There are 42 shades in the range, well that's what I counted on the ColourPop website, they could have more though so don't hold me on my calculation. In my order, I bought 7 shades and they're the only ones I own as this was my first order with ColourPop, I got these in the first week of when they started shipping to the UK back in July, I'll let you know my delivery experience after I've reviewed the products. The shades I have are Are N Be, Bianca, Tulle, Kae and the popular Beeper, Trap and Lumiére 2 which is the beautiful KathleenLights on Youtube's collab with them. And also I got 2 Lipp Pencils in the shades Lumiére and BFF 2.

Are N Be is a rich mauve plum, Bianca is soft mauve pink, Tulle is a dusty mauve burgundy, Kae is a deep dark brown with warm reddish and yellow tones but I couldn't find that on the website so I think it's discontinued as it was part of the KaePop Collab. Beeper is warm mid-toned taupe, Trap is a dusty grey beige and lastly, Lumiére 2 is a dusty mauve pink/purple. As you can tell I seem to like the mauve type colours, which I didn't really notice until I looked up the descriptions of each of these colours.

The price of these Liquid Lips is $6 each, in GBP that translates to £4.79, very very inexpensive so you can see why everyone loves this brand! The coverage and colour payoff are very good and pigmented, even with one swipe which is lovely but I'm terrible at applying liquid lipsticks and mess it up going over my lip line most times so I have to remove it, and this product is very hard to wipe off lightly, they take some scrubbing and the darker colours can leave a colour stain also but a little make-up removing liquid usually does the job. So with these, I would 100% recommend lining your lips beforehand to ensure a cleaner application.

Unlike the NYX Lip Lingerie the feeling of them on your lips while they dry and after they've dried feels so much better, as they're not tacky and don't feel like you have it as much on your lips. I mean you can feel that you have, but just not as much as the NYX as it leaves a tacky feeling. They are transfer proof which is what's expected of matte liquid lip products. The longevity is very good also, they last most of the day with drinking and eating, but it depends on what you're eating. I'd had a McDonalds one day of wearing one of the darker shade Tulle and I still found it to last pretty good though, it just wore off in the middle and smudged as I was wiping my mouth with a wet wipe and I'm not one to re-apply the product straight on top when I still have some product left on my lips so I just removed it completely before re-applying. But they are buildable I find, there is only one shade that doesn't build well and that's Bianca which I'm going to talk about that one.

For some reason the formula of the Bianca Matte Lip is different to the others which disappointed me as I love this colour, it is the perfect everyday shade but I can't really wear is as straight on application it's very dry and crumbles pretty much instantly, I don't know why but I have heard when I searched to see if others Bianca is like it, that since my order they've reformulated the old original matte lips to the new and better formulation so I'm guessing I'm the unlucky one that had an old formulation annoyingly.

Aside from that I'm obsessed with ColourPop's Ultra Matte Lips and can't wait to expand my collection! Now my verdict on what Liquid Lipsticks I prefer over NYX and ColourPop, if I'm honest I think I like the NYX a fraction more, a very little fraction and I don't really know why, well I think it feels better on my lips strangely after I said NYX is a little tacky but I like it.

The 2 Lip Pencils I have are Lumiére which is a dusty mauve pink/purple, again is the beautiful KathleenLights collab and BFF 2 is a mid toned peachy nude pink. The formula of these is very creamy and very easy to apply which I love. These shades I bought are very versatile, I use Lumiére underneath the berry and dark lip products and BFF 2 underneath nude and pink lip products. These are priced at $5, which makes £3.99 GBP.

I said earlier on in the post I was going to tell you my experience of UK Delivery and I thought it was good, I mean the delivery took 2 weeks which it says 7 to 21 days so it was well within that. It was all smooth ColourPop's side, but when it got to the UK I got an email saying my order was attempted to be delivered but no one was in to collect which I knew someone was so I gave it a couple more days for a reattempted delivery and nothing. I had to check my local post office online with my order code and it said it was at the post office, so I went there and that was where I got hit with a customs charge of £15 which wasn't too bad but when you get charged by ColourPop £25 for delivery and then customs, £40 is an annoying amount for delivery especially when the products I bought come to £45 so the delivery cost almost as much as my order which sucked. I'll be looking out for free international shipping codes next time I order that's for sure!

Congratulations if you got through this hefty but informative review, I hope you enjoyed this post and that maybe it helped you out whether you had your eye on buying from ColourPop but wanted to know what others thought of them before buying. Feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have or contact me on any of my social media linked below as always. Thank you. MWAH!

NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Review

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world.

Today I am reviewing the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks. Matte liquid lips are all the rage right now and have been all year all because of Kylie Jenner and her highly popular lip kits. Which is why I wanted to try these out, I didn't want to spend £23.32 per lip kit and £12.02 for shipping plus most probably at least £15 customs, I just don't see the lip kits worth all that extra money so I was so happy when NYX released these.

There are 12 shades in the collection, but at the moment I only have 3 which are Lace Detail, Embellishment and Push up. Lace Detail is a nude shade, more on the peach side, I don't think this one suits me though. Embellishment is a dusty grey toned purple shade which is my favourite one, I think it's so unique. The last out of the 3 is Push Up and again this is a nude but more of a beige tone. It's a your lips but better shade which I love.

The price per liquid lipstick is £6.50 which is very affordable as NYX is a good affordable Drugstore brand. The coverage and colour pay off is very good, I don't find them patchy or uneven. The feel of them on your lips feels tacky and tends to stay like that even when it drys and goes matte which could be a turn off for some people but it doesn't bother me that much, some times I put translucent powder over top to take away the tacky feeling. They don't transfer and I find them nicely long wearing, they do start to wear off when eating greasy and messy foods such as burgers but when drinking I find it lasts nicely. The doe foot applicator is very stiff, so it's tricky when applying product around edges of the lip, I would recommend you use a lip liner of a similar colour before using the liquid lipstick. I'm going to mention the smell as some people do like to know if lip products have a scent as obviously your lips are under your nose and you do pick up the scents which this smells like plastic but only while applying, after that there is no scent.

I am hoping to expand my collection to all of the 12 shades eventually as I do really like these liquid lipsticks and recommend them very much! Below I have 2 pictures for each 1 of the 3 shades I have on my lips for you to see.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it maybe helped you out whether you had your eye on these but wanted to know what others think of them before buying. Feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have or contact me on any of my social media linked below as always. Thank you. MWAH!

Make-Up Revolution Ultra 32 Palette Review

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world.

I have reviewed 3 of the Make-Up Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palettes. I bought these almost a year ago now, and I find myself reaching for these the most out of all my palettes so now I'm back to blogging, I feel these palettes deserve a review post. There are 8 palettes in this range and I got the Flawless, Flawless Mattes and Beyond  Flawless palettes, they're priced at £8 each.

The actual palette packaging itself is very sturdy, sleek, black and glossy which I find it looks very professional and looks more expensive than what it actually is. And with it being glossy, the palette wouldn't get very messy and grubby looking as it's easily wiped away which is good. It also comes with a big mirror, that's always a must with an eyeshadow palette. The only thing I wish it did have was the names of the shades printed underneath each shadow, it does come with a plastic protective sheet on top with all the names on but that is easily lost which annoys me but that doesn't matter that much.

The Flawless and Beyond Flawless palettes have a range of mattes, shimmer and glitter shades, the Flawless and Flawless Matte palettes have all the same shades, except one is all matte (duh!) and the other one has a mix of mattes, shimmers and glitters. They're perfect every day palettes, that can make from neutral eye shadow looks to dramatic eye shadow looks, the Beyond Flawless palette is slightly different with more of a selection of golds, burgundy and purple shades.

Make-Up Revolution is one of, well literally my favourite drugstore brand for make-up, especially when it comes to their eye shadows! They never fail to amaze me with their palettes, they're always so consistent and nicely impressive, especially with the prices of them. They're so inexpensive, I mean 32 great quality shadows for only £8, how can you not love them?!

The shadows themselves are very buttery to touch, nicely pigmented, little fall out, very easy to apply and are quite long lasting. Obviously they're not as rich and pigmented as high-end brands such as Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverley Hills etc. but for a Drugstore brand they're most definitely one of the best quality when it comes to eye shadows.

So if your on a small-ish budget and are looking for a decent palette with a wide range of shadow shades and textures then trust me these Ultra 32 Eye Shadow Palettes by Make-Up Revolution would be perfect, I would 110% recommend these palettes for everyone. And I'm hoping to get the remaining 5 palettes from this range to add to my collection.

(Top palette - Flawless Mattes. Middle palette - Flawless. Bottom Palette - Beyond Flawless)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope it was helpful for you in someway. Please leave a comment or contact me on my social media if you have any questions or requests. Thank you. MWAH.

Soap & Glory First Impressions Review

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world. Today I'm reviewing the 3 new skin care products Soap & Glory have released which are the 'Big Clean' Duo which I'm sure you've all heard of or seen lately in Boots on introductory promo.

I bought them last month and they were in at an introductory price as £6 each and as I'm a lover of Soap & Glory's bath and body products I thought I'd give them a try. I've tested them out a fair few times, enough to tell you what I think and if I'd put them in my daily skin care routine.

First up is the Drama Clean 5-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water, so it claims 5 things which are cleanse, tone, melts make-up, dissolves dirt, smoothes and soothes, I personally think that is a lot to claim to but I love micellar cleansing waters and I know how good they can be. Now with my personal experience I thought it was rubbish removing my make-up, face make-up I think it removes perfectly but eye make-up it was crap at. I know usually you would have a micellar water for eye make-up remover that has oil in but my trusty L'oréal Paris Perfection Micellar Water melts my eye make-up perfectly. But this Soap & Glory one don't, it leaved blackness smudged all around my eyes (I didn't have waterproof mascara on, it was regulars) and it also stung them which once again my L'oréal one don't do (review for that here). The only thing I do like about this product is the scent, it's cucumber and that instantly makes me think it would be so nice to my skin but I don't think this product is.

Next is the Peaches And Clean Deep Cleansing Milk, this also claims that it's a 4-in-1 product so it's supposed to purify, clarify, dissolve make-up, energize and smooth. I didn't use this to remove my make-up because I used the micellar water for that, I used this as a face wash to make sure everything is off of my face. I do think this product is the most decent one out of the trio and I may test it out longer with my normal skin care routine to see how it does.

Lastly is the Face Soap & Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash, it claims to smooth, clean and purify. It has little beads in there to also act as a scrub to remove dead skin cells and dirt but I found they were to fine and didn't do anything, it also leaves my face feeling like a plastic wrapper which I didn't like. Once again it didn't do anything amazing to my skin or actually anything to it.

Overall with these new products I am highly disappointed and most definitely won't repurchase, and I'm also thinking of what I'm going to do with them as I know I won't use them. Anyway, I hope you liked this post, I know it's a negative one but maybe these products would be a different experience to you but I wouldn't recommend them.

Dress Link Haul & Review

(Image credit to Google Images and DressLink.com)

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world. For today's post I have a review of the site Dress Link, I discovered this site from watching a YouTube video which I can't remember what one is was now.

As I am a make-up lover, I had a little collection of make-up brushes and I was in need of more to ass to my collection. As on my wishlist I posted a while back I have my eye on the Zoeva brushes but while I saved for them I was on the look out for a cheap collection which is when I came across this very cheap priced site. I looked up more reviews of this on YouTube to make sure it was safe and trusted which it was so away I ordered.

I made my order on March 19th and had received it by March 24th, I was so shocked at how quick the delivery was as it was all the way from china and I was informed that delivery was from 5 to 20 days so I didn't expect it for a least 10 days. I got a 32 Make-Up Brush Set costing £6.55 20 Make-Up Brush Set costing £3.60, 10 Make-Up Brush Set costing £4.91 and a 15 Cream Concealer Palette costing £2.21 so as a total it come to £17.34, I paid more for the delivery than I did for the products as delivery was £20.89. I was informed once I made the order that my order may be packaged in several packages but they had all been in the same package.

The quality of brushes are very good considering the cheap prices they are, they're soft and feel nice to use on the face. They do have a smell to them like a factory and synthetic smell but I don't find it a bother, they can easily be washed to take the smell away. I would definitely buy from Dress Link again as my first experience was better than I'd expected which made me very impressed as reviews I'd seen online we're all very mixed, but from my experience I would recommend the site and the products as being so cheap in price it's definitely worth it, it's all whether you'd pay for the delivery as that isn't so cheap.

Soap & Glory The Perfect Ten Palette Review & Swatches

Hey my lovelies, hope you're all well. Today I have got a review for you, and yes it is one of the many natural nude palettes in the make-up world. This one is from Soap & Glory as you already know from the title and cover picture. This palette has 10 nude-bronze shades. 3 shades are matte which are Vanilla, Pink T and Black Gold and the other 7 Minky, Aubersheen, Gold Coast, Taupe Cat, Sunset, Brownie and Smokin' are shimmers. I'd say this palette is perfect for beginners or for a starter kit and I'd say a good dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palettes. Vanilla, Pink T and Aubersheen are in the What's Nude Lid Stuff Quad. Black Gold and Smokin' are in the Smokey Dokey Lid Stuff Quad. Minky is in the Off The Wallflowers Lid Stuff Quad and Taupe Cat is in the Glamour Push Gift Set. I believe that Gold Coast, Sunset and Brownie are new shades specially for this palette, I'm not 100% so don't quote me on that. I am in love with this palette, all the shades are perfect for everyday wear and you can make multiple eye looks. The shadows themselves are very smooth, creamy, blendable and pigmented. I got this for Christmas from my boyfriend, I of course picked it out and it was an affordable price of £16 I think it's definitely worth the price but it is limited edition and I can't find it on the Boots and Soap & Glory websites so it may have stopped being sold but you may be able to find it on Ebay or sites like that. Below are up close pictures of the shadows and I swatched them for you.

I hope you liked this review and if you can't get your hands on the full palette then I would recommend you getting the 3 Lid Stuff palettes with all but 3 of the shades from this palette. Be sure to leave any questions you have in the comments below or on my social media's. Thank you.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara First Impressions Review

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're well. Today I have for you a very exciting review of the long awaited new mascara from Benefit the 'Roller Lash'

Benefit have teamed up with ELLE UK for the March issue of the magazine with a sample of the Roller Lash, with the magazine being £4 I found this an opportunity not to miss out on as I love They're Real Mascara and the promotion of this new mascara got me needing to try it.

It's said to be super-curling and lifting for your lashes with it's hook'n'roll brush, and has a snappy slogan #CurlsBestFriend. This mascara has been in development for 4 years so it hasn't been rushed and just chucked in the shops, Benefit have spent a lot of time on this mascara to make it perfect and different. It's supposed to give your lashes a soft, girly, eye-opening effect and put a stop to curling your lashes with those horrid and harsh may I add eyelash curlers, I don't like those things. And is a light-weight formula to keep your lashes curled for 12 hours.

97% said it visibly lifts lashes
87% said it gives long-lasting curl
94% said eyes look more wide open
*consumer panel survey on 31 women after 4 weeks

Now to my opinion I've worn it a couple times, I love the brush it grips onto my lashes very well and I think it does lift my eyelashes, gives them a slight curl and lengthens them quite a bit, I did put a couple coats on to test if it's easy to work and build able, I found it did build up nicely and the brush separates the lashes nicely. As for it's staying power, after a day at work it was still intact and visible on my lashes but they was a little bit of black product smudged under my eyes, which is one of the only drawbacks about the mascara for me. I would recommend this for you girls that have short and stubby eyelashes to give it a try, my lashes aren't short I'm quite lucky that my lashes are naturally a little long. So Benefit it's another thumbs up for me from your products.

My eyelashes with no mascara on.

My eyelashes with 1 coat of Roller Lash on.

My eyelashes with 2 coats of Roller Lash on.

The 'Roller Lash' mascara will hit stores in the UK on the 27th February so it's this month. If your not sure whether you want to spend £19.50 on this mascara then go buy ELLE magazine NOW for the sample, hurry because I'd imagine the magazine to sell out like hot cakes!
