Drugstore Haul

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world. Today I have a Boots haul for you, this day I was specifically looking for skin care products to try and that is literally all I bought, I didn't go off track and look for make-up, hair products etc.

I needed a new moisturizer and I wanted to try out and eye cream seeing as the skin there is so delicate so I wanted to start taking care of my under eyes and eyelids. I have a few products from the brand Simple which I liked so I thought I'd purchase Simple products. I got the Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturizer and the Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream, and there was a deal on for 3 for price of 2 so I browsed the other Simple products and the Kind To Skin Pore Minimizing Toning Cleanser stuck out to me because I have big pores. I will let you know how I get on with a review of all 3 products once I've used them for at least a month.

Next I really wanted to get a mask and I have loads Montagne Jeunesse ones but I saw a coconut one and a honey one that sparked my interest so I got 2 coconut ones and a honey one as it was 3 for 2.

Lastly I'd seen a review on the Seven Seas Perfect7 Woman 30 caps and 30 tabs that help with skin, hair, nails, energy, brain, vision, heart and hormonal activity. I got these for my hair, skin and nails because I'm all for helping my hair grow healthier and stronger as well as my nails and having nice skin. Once I've been using these for a month or so I will write a review to let you know how I'm getting on with them.

I hoped you liked this post, it's been a while since I had a haul simply because I've switched jobs and other personal stuff so I haven't had much spare money to splurge but now I'm all sorted my shopping addiction can be fed. Keep your eyes out for my skin care products review and review of the Seven Seas Perfect7 which will be in a month or so.

My Hair Care Routine

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world. Today's post is about my hair and what I use and do to care for my hair. (The cover picture is my hair in it's natural air dried texture. Wavy straight, I always leave it like this I like it. I also think my hair looks dry in these photo's but I can assure you my hair is not dry, I think it's the blonde highlights as there are lots of them but they're little.)

First off I'll start with the products I use, from when I wash my hair to when it's wet and dry. I switch my shampoos and conditioners probably every few months. And usually I'll alternate between 2 shampoos and conditioners at any one time so currently I use is the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full For Color-Treated Hair Shampoo and Conditioner most of the time and when I feel like my hair and scalp needs a good cleanse I use the Aussie Mega Shampoo and the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Conditioner. For a deep conditioner which I pretty much use every time I wash my hair is the John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner. I try to wash my hair only 2 times a week as the natural oils are good for keeping your hair healthier and hydrated. You may think that's gross but once your hair is trained this way it won't get that much greasy and will last longer. Usually I will use the Floral Batiste Dry Shampoo after the second day from washing my hair to help soak up any oils my scalp it producing.

After I get out of the bath from washing my hair I let it air dry for half hour and then I will use the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Spray on the bottom half of my hair to help de-tangle it as my hair is quite long and is a nightmare to brush without using it. Then I use the John Frieda Full Repair Repairing Oil Elixir on the bottom half of my hair to tame fly away's and give my ends so hydration.

When I feel like my hair needs some TLC and a pick-me-up I will melt some coconut oil in the palms of my hands and smother my scalp and hair top-to-bottom in it and leave it in for as long as I can, the shortest time being half hour. I try to do this weekly and it does my hair wonders, coconut oil is a miracle oil and can be bought in many Supermarkets, drugstores and health stores. I have a whole Blog post on coconut oil that will be posted soon.

As for styling my hair I rarely ever use heat, I like my natural hair and don't find it necessary to use heat all the time. I let my hair air dry, even if I'm in a rush for work or something like that. I will use heat if I'm going on a night out to the pubs/clubs/parties or occasions like Wedding's/Christening's/Birthday Parties etc. In those cases I will always wash my hair on the day and try to get it to air dry, then I'll use my Gold GHD straighteners to either curl or straighten my hair.

So that's everything I do to care and style my hair, I hope you liked this post.. even though I don't do nothing exciting to my hair as I like to be as natural and good to my hair as possible so it would grow healthy and long. If you'd like me to make a post on hair care tips for long, healthy, strong hair then leave comments below or on my social media. And the same if you'd like me to do certain hair style tutorials, or ones I typically do to my hair. Thank you.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day. As you can see by the title it's a 1st birthday for someone/something... and that is THIS BLOG! Yesterday marked a year since I created this blog and published my first ever post! I can't even believe I'm still blogging to be honest, my attention span is the size of a child still, I find it hard to stick to doing things but I wanted for so long to be apart of the beauty community after years of watching beauty Youtubers, yet I knew I wouldn't be able to film videos of myself because I'm too shy so blogging was the choice for me.

I love blogging, it's an amazing feeling after each blog post I create and publish, as that's my own work and effort and when I see people viewing them I get a fuzzy feeling inside of happiness. Even though my views are only double figures it's still amazing to me, everyone starts somewhere, we all experience the same stages at the start.

The things that have been highlights for me in the first year of blogging are being apart of the #BloggersDoItBetter Challenges, they were great. We'd get a topic from the creator of the challenge and we'd do a blog post about that topic, it happened once a fortnight (two weeks). I had amazing feedback on all my posts I did during this challenge, like they were literally the only posts I had comments on. This post was my most successful I'd say. But as you may or may not know I stopped blogging for some months due to being lazy and lack of inspiration and when I did begin blogging again I didn't see any more challenges for the #BloggersDoItBetter. And another highlight was reaching 50 Bloglovin' followers, I know to some people this may seem a pathetic amount but to me it's amazing and I thank everyone who follows my blog and views it.

I have some things I'd like to accomplish for my next year of blogging.

  • Communicate with more bloggers. I don't really do that currently because I think I'd be ignored or something but I'm going to get out there and talk to as many as I can, comment on their posts, and make friends.
  • I want to be apart of another group/challenge like I was with #BloggersDoItBetter, it was a great experience to be apart of and it made me feel more apart of the blogging community.
  • Literally be more organised with my posts, like have set days where I'll sit down and write posts, any idea I get for posts I'll write down the moment I think of it, try to post so it goes in order like beauty post, hair post, lifestyle post then tag post. If you get what I mean, a routine.. I have a posting routine for the days I post but not any set topics it's all random.
  • Be more brave and make tutorial posts of make-up looks and hairstyles. I'm going to experiment more on make-up looks and hairstyles than just sticking to my usual ones so I have more and better content for you.
  • Reach 100 Bloglovin' followers, omg that would be so amazing to me!
  • Re-design my blog, I've had the same design for a whole year and what I was thinking was redesign my blog for each season so it's goes with it like the color scheme.
  • Branch out and try more and different products so I have better knowledge to make better posts and more of a variety.
  • And my last thing to accomplish would be to just have fun and love what I'm blogging about.

March Playlist

Hey lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day. Today's post I have for you is my monthly playlist of what I've been listening to the past month, it's a little bit of a variety but not much as I listen to new music more than old and literally stick to the same artists. Anyone else like that? Or are you one for older music?

I hope you liked this post, and maybe I introduced you some songs you'd want to check out. I've literally had these on repeat in a playlist on YouTube for the whole month. Comment below or message me on my social media all your favorite songs or maybe make a playlist post and be sure to send me a link so I could view it. Thank you.

2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl.. Very slowly because I don't want them to ever end!

4. What is your one peeve about Netflix?
The selections, literally most of the programs or films I search for are not even there, even well known classics, it bugs me like no other.

5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
Snuggled in bed, darkness outside, fairy lights on and candle lit. I also love to be cuddled up with my boyfriend but he doesn't like the shows I watch to I watch them when he's not home.

6. Recommend one series or film for someone else.
Pretty Little Liars for series because that's my all time favorite show since it premiered in 2010 and for film I have no idea, I love many chick flicks.

My Current Tattoos & Future Wanted Tattoos

Hey my lovelies, hope you're well and are having a good day. Today's post is about my tattoos and tattoos I want to get in the future. So if you like tattoos carry on reading.

I have 2 tattoos currently and I want a few more but I'm more of a little tattoo type person than having big ones on my body. I like words and phrases more than picture tattoos. So my first tattoo I got a few days after my 19th birthday (in 2012 on November 21st and my birthday is the 18th) and that was the word Believe on my right wrist, I had it so the word was facing me rather than outwards so I could see it. I got this tattoo for 2 reasons one because my favorite celebrities always said Believe in yourself and you can do anything and stuff that which are Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato and the other reason is because around this time I was depressed, I had issues with myself and was going through a rough time so I wanted to get a tattoo with meaning and when I'd look at it, it would help me.

My 2nd tattoo I got August 14th 2013 and it's the word Faith with birds flying away from the word and you may recognize it because it's the tattoo that Demi Lovato has also, yep copy cat right here. But I was obsessed with this tattoo I thought it was beautiful and inspiring so I had to get it. When I got this tattoo I was still depressed and going through the same issues I had during my first tattoo.

I have a few tattoos in mind that I would want in the future. When I've lost weight and am at the size I'd like to be I would like a double dream catcher that I want on the side of my rib, I've always wanted a dream catcher tattoo and I know it's 'basic' for girls but they look so beautiful and not trashy when done with a decent tattooist. On the opposite side that I will have my dream catcher tattoo I want the words 'Love Yourself' just under where my bikini top/bra would finish so obviously when I'm wearing a bathing suit etc you'd see it. I also want just a simple heart on the bottom of my ring finger, also when I get married I'd like to have maybe the date I got married or my husbands initial of his name just below where my wedding ring(s) would go, I think that's cute and I'd want my husband to get the same.

(The tattoo with Just Breathe on is an example of the Love Yourself tattoo I want)

I hope you liked this post, I'll obviously keep you posted for whenever I do get these tattoo's or when I next get one. Let me know what tattoo's you have and/or want to get in the future in the comments below or on my social media links. Thank you.

February Favorites | Hair, Beauty & More

Hey my lovelies I hope you're well. So that's it, another month of 2015 over with and now we're already in March the start of Spring. And obviously as it's a new month I have my favorites of the previous month for you.

First up is hair and I love to buy hair products as I like to make sure my hair is as healthy as I can get it for it to grow and look luscious. I bought the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full For Color-Treated Hair Shampoo and John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full For Color-Treated Hair Conditioner as well as the John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner Mask specially for my hair as it's dyed and my hair doesn't have much life to it so I thought I'd give those 3 a whirl and I love them, my hair has been going through a greasy stage for some reason which is probably because of all the crap food I've eaten. But my hair has been lasting a few days without going greasy, it also feels and is looking healthier and my hairs not been as flat as it naturally is.

Also for days when my hair is a little greasy as I'm trying to wash my hair on a Monday and Friday like I did a few months ago before it's greasy stage kicked in, the Batiste Dry Shampoo Floral And Flirty Blush works amazing for my hair, I get the large size as I use this a lot and the smaller one runs out quick. I could never be without this dry shampoo.

Now for make-up, as in a few of my posts I've mentioned this products before and they are the Soap & Glory The Perfect Ten Eyeshadow Palette, No7 Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil in the purple and brown shades, Benefit Hoola Bronzer and Benefit They're Real Mascara. I love these a lot, I won't go into detail on the palette as I have a review here. The eye pencils are lovely and butter, amazing for blending, I like to put it on my top lid close to my eyelash line and blend them out. Benefits Hoola Bronzer and They're Real Mascara I'm sure you've heard lots about as they are very popular and very good.

I have a few foods I've been enjoying lately, as I'm on a diet which you may know from this post with an explanation to why I am and how. For lunch I've been having bagels with low fat Philidelphia cheese & Salmon or Tuna on top and it's so yummy and perfect for lunch. For a snack I've been really into having a salt and vinegar rice cake as it's only around 40 calories per rice cake. This is strange to put on my favorites but water with fresh lemon is super yummy and very healthy for you. It gives a little extra flavoring to water.

And last but not least I can't forget to add my camera into my favorites, it's my first proper camera but I've been loving it, I think it does just the job for the time being for this blog and it is the Sony Alpha a5000 Compact System Camera with 16-50 mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Zoom Lens in Black. I have a post on it here

So that's all my favorites this month, I hope you liked. If you want to know what music I've been into for the month then I have a post here if you'd like to check it out. Thank you.

Beat The Bulge | Month #1 Update

Hey my lovelies, hope you're well and having a good day. Today I'm going to update you on my diet, how much weight I've lost, what I've been eating and my exercise. Maybe what I've been doing could help you out and give you tips into losing weight.

I've put on a fair amount of weight in the last 15 months, making me the biggest I've ever been and I hate myself for it, I'm uncomfortable and my insecurities over it stops me from doing stuff like going out to socialize and clothes shopping with friends. In fact I haven't really bought new clothes since last May, I mean I've bought some bits like leggings, flowy tops and jumpers.. all that will hide my figure and are comfortable. I have a boyfriend and I know he loves me just the way I am, he is always telling me because he know how uncomfortable a feel, that is something that makes me happy having my boyfriend support me and love me no matter what. I want to lose 5-6 stone and I'll be happy, I have my nieces Christening in June and I'm going to be her Godmother so I want to lose weight so I feel comfortable to be in front of a church full of family and friends. Don't worry I don't to have lost all 6 stone by June because that is unrealistic 3 or 4 stone will be perfectly fine as it would be just over 4 months of dieting by then.

So my first week of dieting which was Monday 26th January - Sunday 1st February and I lost 3lbs, then the next week Monday 2nd February - Sunday 8th Feb I lost 4lbs making it up to half a stone lost in 2 weeks, I was absolutely over the moon considering I wasn't very confident that I'd lose that much in a short time and that I didn't think I'd get on with dieting at all as this is my first strict and serious diet I've ever been on. My third week Monday 9th February - Sunday 15th February I lost 3lbs again and the my final week of the month Monday 16th February - Sunday 22nd February I failed to weigh myself because I chickened out as my diet wasn't as good as the previous 3 weeks due to something happening and that caused me to be out of routine but the following Thursday 27th February I braved it by getting on the scales and discover I'd made it to losing 1 STONE in 1 MONTH! So I'd lost 4 lbs for my last week and I am so happy and proud of myself.

What is my daily calorie amount and what have I been eating you ask? Well I've been eating around 1,500 - 1,200 calories, I haven't been strictly counting my calories only a rough guesstimate as my diet is healthy and balanced. So for breakfast I've been eating is Oats So Simple Golden Syrup Porridge with semi-skimmed milk. Lunch time I've been having either a bagel with low fat Philidelphia soft cheese salmon or tuna on top or my yummy salad I always make when I want salad. Dinner I have either chicken breasts or cod with peppers, mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn(or another side of vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and carrots) and rice or sweet potato fries (baked in the oven of course) ;) And as for snacks I like a couple rice crackers with philidelphia soft cheese, a Salt And Vinegar Rice Cake, a bag of Snack A Jacks Salt and Vinegar, Go Ahead Yoghurt Break Bars or any fruit I have indoors. Don't worry I don't have all these snacks in one day it's usually just 1 or 2 in between lunch and dinner. For drinks I've got a watch bottle that's 750ml and I usually drink 2 of those throughout the day, I also like to have a glass or 2 of Coconut milk and a couple times in the week a Naked Green Machine Smoothie. Yes it's green but it doesn't taste as horrible as it looks, I think it tastes like a mango and passion fruit flavor, oh so delicious.

I know my diet may seem boring and very unappetizing to some people and I didn't think I would like it or even survive on it but I've honestly been enjoying it very much. And I definetly am feeling the effects of much healthier food, after I've lost all my weight that I wanted to lose I want to carry on with the healthy eating but adapt it so I won't lose or gain weight and stay the same.

As for exercise I've been going to a local gym and going on the treadmill, rower machine, upright bicycle, recumbent bicycle, cross trainer, and some weight machines I have not clue what are called. I usually do 10-15 minutes on each, my favorites are the cross trainer as that is a good workout that gets my sweating like no other and burns a lot of calories, the rower and the upright bike. I think those 3 are the most effective for me and make me sweat the most.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it gave to some help and tips. If you have any questions at all about my diet and exercise then feel free to leave a comment below or any of my social medias (links at the bottom of this post) I'm obviously no professional dietitian but I'll try to help you as much as I can.
