My favourite quick & healthy(ish) meal

My diet isn't very healthy, I admit that and I hate how unhealthy I am with my diet. But I live at my boyfriends' house which he still lives with his parents and I got in the habit where I just buy my boyfriend and I snacks such a crisp, popcorn, sweets, chocolate and not forgetting the many fizzy drinks. I pretty much hate juice and water is boring, I only like to drink it from a bottle if I do have it.

Back to when I was at college I was very good with drinking water I had a water bottle and just refilled it with normal cold tap water and I'd drink a lot on a daily basis, but that's just gone out the window now. I love fruit and vegetables but obviously where I live with my boyfriends' family, if I bought stuff like that they would need to be in the refrigerator or kitchen which results in them getting eaten by others, so my boyfriend and I would hardly get a chance to eat what we bought that's why I buy snacks where they're okay to be stored in our room. When my boyfriend and I have our own house, trust me on this my kitchen will be full of fruit and vegetables, all that healthy stuff. I'd even have a blender so I can make loads of healthy smoothies.. mmmmm I can't wait to move out whenever that be, hopefully within 5 years. I'm only 20 so I got plenty of time and having a house is a big responsibility and shouldn't be rushed.

Now on to my salad which is why I'm writing this post!

Mmmmmm look how yummy that looks though, and I'm eating it while writing this blog post. Gobble, gobble, munch, munch, nom, nom!

When I have a taste to be healthy there is one quick and easy meal I ALWAYS turn to and that's a salad that contains iceberg crunchy lettuce, mixed olives, feta cheese and croutons with caeser salad dressing on top. My family and friends all aren't very good with a healthy diet and they're always like "how can you eat a salad with no meat?!" I don't think the salad needs meat, for me the olives fill in for the meat and I prefer them.

I came across making this salad when the Supermarket where I work had a ready made Greek salad that had all what I put in mine, minus the caeser dressing. It had a different dressing but I don't know what it was. Anyway one day they took that salad off the shelves which didn't go very well for me as I loved eating it. So I decided to make it myself and as I love caeser wraps I thought I'd put caeser sauce over all the ingredients that was originally in my Greek salad I always bought and that's when I fell in love. HAHA!

The reason why the blog title says it's healthy(ish) is because it depends how crazy you go with the dressing as the calories will add up, even without the sauce it's yummy but I like to add a little more flavor.

If you don't like salads because they're too 'plain' try this one, it's honestly so yummy and filling, well after I chase it down with some chopped fruit, mainly my favorite melon! If you do try this out, let me know how you liked it on my social media site, linked at the end of every blog post and at the top of my blog.

Drugstore Haul #1

Yesterday was pay day for me, so I obviously had to pop into the drugstore to have a little look around and buy some necessities I needed, which were cotton rounds the big & small ones for removing my make-up and nail varnish but I didn't bother including them into the photo below of what I got as they're just basic haha. I also needed to get blonde toning shampoo and conditioner as I've just had my hair re-ombréd so they were a must, I don't want my blonde to be on the brassy side oh no no no! (I will be writing a post about my ombré hair, such as getting it ombré and how I care for it, so keep a look out for that!) And well they were all I intended to get.....

I've had my hair ombré before back in November 2012 then I got rid of it around June last year but here I am less than a year later and I've gone back. For the blonde on the ends of my hair I used John Frieda Sheer Blonde Color Renew Tone-Correcting Shampoo & Conditioner last time, so I had to buy it again this time around because it really does remove brassy tones. They both cost £5.99 separately but they were on offer 2 for £7 on John Frieda hair products, which was a good bargain... so get yourself in Superdrug ASAP if you like John Frieda hair products, I definitely recommend the products.

I watched a haul video on YouTube the other day of glitteralittle, she had bought the Garnier 2-in-1 Express Eye Make-Up Remover, and I really wanted a good eye make-up remover that would get waterproof products off so I'd thought I'd give this a try. It's £3.49 in Superdrug.

Garnier Moisture Match Goodbye Dry was also on glitteralittle's haul video, she'd used for a while and said it's good for dry skin and my skin is awfully dry especially in the colder months so I had to give it a try. This is £5.99 in Superdrug.

I also bought L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Solution which is also make-up remover but used for all the face. I've used this for a few months now and I'm in love with it, it's a staple for my make-up removal routine. This is regularly £4.99 in Superdrug but at the moment it's £3.32 so if you're interested in buying it I would recommend so get in Superdrug ASAP!

I've wanted L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation for a while now because one of my favorite beauty guru's on Youtube Lauren, (woo we have the same name haha) she loves this foundation and always is using it so I had to get it and try. This is £9.99 in Superdrug.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette Undress Me Too is raved about all over YouTube within the beauty community, I think it looks like the perfect neutral palette, and I'm all over that as I don't really branch out on a colorful eye look. This is £4.00 in Superdrug, such an amazing price for all the shadows you get.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser Cocoa Radiant is the last thing I got and it was also on glitteralittle's haul, I'm very lazy with moisturizing my body (oops, my skin does get dry) so I thought this would be perfect and easy for me. This is £3.99 in Superdrug, it's available in 3 flavors/scents which is cocoa, aloe and oat.

Well that's the end of my drugstore haul, I hope you liked it. I will be reviewing all these products after I've used them for a while, to let you know whether I liked them and recommend them.

Introduction to myself and my blog.

Hey, welcome to my blog.
I'm new to the blogging world, well new to actually blogging myself as I've been following and reading up on my favorite blogs for a while and those are mainly beauty guru's from YouTube. I've been wanting to make a blog for a while now but I didn't know what I would blog about, and now I've figured out what I will blog about which is hair, beauty and lifestyle related.

Let me introduce myself:
My name is Lauren, I'm from England in the UK and I'm 20 years old. I went to college in 2010 for 2 years after finishing school in year 11, aged 16. I studied Beauty Therapy and Spa Therapy in college and I'm fully qualified for both but since leaving college even with those qualifications my job isn't anything to do with them, I just work in a supermarket at the moment and on the side I wax family and friends. I'm passionate about hair and beauty related stuff, as I'm forever watching my favorite beauty guru's on Youtube but I'm camera shy and awkward which is why I don't make videos and that resulted me in to finally making this blog.

I hope this blog will gain some viewers that will find my posts helpful... haha I'm even awkward in a written post WOW! Anyways thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy future posts and keep coming back! :)
