How's My Diet Going? Long Time No Update!

Hey my lovelies, I hope you're all well and are having a good day wherever you are in the world. Today's post I'm going to let you all know what's been happening with my diet... If I've been sticking to it etc.

Now I'm going to be honest, my diet lasted a little over a month which I lost a total of 1 stone during that time. I was doing amazing, I felt amazing and I believed I would be able to keep going at it. But that was better said than done, I didn't intend to give up I just slowly fell out of dieting. I was finding it hard because I was having the same dinner day in, day out.. my boyfriends mum was always cooking it and if I'm honest I didn't like the way she was cooking it. I always had chicken cooked in a bag with lots of vegetables in the oven with some sort of mixed flavor with sweetcorn and either sweet potato fries or rice. What was the most off putting thing for me was the way she cooked the sweet potato fries, she made them very chunky and then the liquid from the chicken bag made them all soggy on the plate. Now I detest potato, it instantly makes me gag and I hate the taste of it, I will only eat chips mainly thin, crisp (duh) and roasted potatoes but they have to be crispy. I love sweet potato fries, if they do them in a restaurant I eat at I usually get them but they weren't the same when my boyfriends mum cooked them. I believe I would be so much better being on a diet if I had full control of my meals but my boyfriends mum automatically cooks meals for us before we have a chance to maybe cook something.

Also another thing my boyfriends fridge and freezer are tiny half ones that are always jammed up with stuff so if I wanted to buy fresh and frozen ingredients they never fit anyway and when I do put stuff in them I do find that they some times get eaten especially my fruit and salad stuff. With going to the gym I still kept going to the gym up until a month ago I'd say, I always went with my sister-in-law in the afternoon about 4ish and after a while going at the time became inconvenient I'd have much rather go in the morning but I didn't want to leave my sister-in-law to go on her own as she couldn't do mornings as there was never anyone available to look after my niece. So going to the gym faded out which I'm so disappointed in myself as I did love going, it made me feel so good.

I do still want and need to lose weight but I'm not going to push myself, I'm just going to let it happen naturally and slowly without a deadline because all that pressure to lose a certain amount of weight by a certain time could be very daunting. I'll be sure to keep you updated if and when I'm dieting and have lost weight as I want it to help any of you out and it'll always be fun to look back on once I've possibly lost a lot of weight.

Beat The Bulge | Month #1 Update

Hey my lovelies, hope you're well and having a good day. Today I'm going to update you on my diet, how much weight I've lost, what I've been eating and my exercise. Maybe what I've been doing could help you out and give you tips into losing weight.

I've put on a fair amount of weight in the last 15 months, making me the biggest I've ever been and I hate myself for it, I'm uncomfortable and my insecurities over it stops me from doing stuff like going out to socialize and clothes shopping with friends. In fact I haven't really bought new clothes since last May, I mean I've bought some bits like leggings, flowy tops and jumpers.. all that will hide my figure and are comfortable. I have a boyfriend and I know he loves me just the way I am, he is always telling me because he know how uncomfortable a feel, that is something that makes me happy having my boyfriend support me and love me no matter what. I want to lose 5-6 stone and I'll be happy, I have my nieces Christening in June and I'm going to be her Godmother so I want to lose weight so I feel comfortable to be in front of a church full of family and friends. Don't worry I don't to have lost all 6 stone by June because that is unrealistic 3 or 4 stone will be perfectly fine as it would be just over 4 months of dieting by then.

So my first week of dieting which was Monday 26th January - Sunday 1st February and I lost 3lbs, then the next week Monday 2nd February - Sunday 8th Feb I lost 4lbs making it up to half a stone lost in 2 weeks, I was absolutely over the moon considering I wasn't very confident that I'd lose that much in a short time and that I didn't think I'd get on with dieting at all as this is my first strict and serious diet I've ever been on. My third week Monday 9th February - Sunday 15th February I lost 3lbs again and the my final week of the month Monday 16th February - Sunday 22nd February I failed to weigh myself because I chickened out as my diet wasn't as good as the previous 3 weeks due to something happening and that caused me to be out of routine but the following Thursday 27th February I braved it by getting on the scales and discover I'd made it to losing 1 STONE in 1 MONTH! So I'd lost 4 lbs for my last week and I am so happy and proud of myself.

What is my daily calorie amount and what have I been eating you ask? Well I've been eating around 1,500 - 1,200 calories, I haven't been strictly counting my calories only a rough guesstimate as my diet is healthy and balanced. So for breakfast I've been eating is Oats So Simple Golden Syrup Porridge with semi-skimmed milk. Lunch time I've been having either a bagel with low fat Philidelphia soft cheese salmon or tuna on top or my yummy salad I always make when I want salad. Dinner I have either chicken breasts or cod with peppers, mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn(or another side of vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and carrots) and rice or sweet potato fries (baked in the oven of course) ;) And as for snacks I like a couple rice crackers with philidelphia soft cheese, a Salt And Vinegar Rice Cake, a bag of Snack A Jacks Salt and Vinegar, Go Ahead Yoghurt Break Bars or any fruit I have indoors. Don't worry I don't have all these snacks in one day it's usually just 1 or 2 in between lunch and dinner. For drinks I've got a watch bottle that's 750ml and I usually drink 2 of those throughout the day, I also like to have a glass or 2 of Coconut milk and a couple times in the week a Naked Green Machine Smoothie. Yes it's green but it doesn't taste as horrible as it looks, I think it tastes like a mango and passion fruit flavor, oh so delicious.

I know my diet may seem boring and very unappetizing to some people and I didn't think I would like it or even survive on it but I've honestly been enjoying it very much. And I definetly am feeling the effects of much healthier food, after I've lost all my weight that I wanted to lose I want to carry on with the healthy eating but adapt it so I won't lose or gain weight and stay the same.

As for exercise I've been going to a local gym and going on the treadmill, rower machine, upright bicycle, recumbent bicycle, cross trainer, and some weight machines I have not clue what are called. I usually do 10-15 minutes on each, my favorites are the cross trainer as that is a good workout that gets my sweating like no other and burns a lot of calories, the rower and the upright bike. I think those 3 are the most effective for me and make me sweat the most.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it gave to some help and tips. If you have any questions at all about my diet and exercise then feel free to leave a comment below or any of my social medias (links at the bottom of this post) I'm obviously no professional dietitian but I'll try to help you as much as I can.

Beating The Bulge Plan!

Hey my lovelies, hope you're all well. On my new year post I mentioned that I've gained so much weight and how I'm not happy like this, I said I was thinking of doing posts of my progress or journey whatever you'd like to call it on losing weight. The way I'm going to do it is do weekly posts with the foods I've eaten everyday, how I feel and if I've lost any weight, but I'm not going to reveal my actual weight size because I'm not comfortable doing so right now. I don't tell anyone not even family my weight neither do I let them see the scales when I'm on them but I haven't weighted myself in literally at least half a year, I get scared and chicken out. I've told you my clothes size which is 12-14, mainly 14 though so there's a visual of my size. I'm not sure whether I want to share a full body picture of myself either as I hate seeing myself like this but I may take one then when I've hopefully lost weight and pretty much got back to the size I'm comfortable at I'll do a post where I'll tell you my starting weight to my ending weight with pictures of before and after.

Now here's my weight loss plan!
* STOP with the takeaways. They literally are my weakness, as I live at my boyfriend's mum's house with his mum obviously, sister and his mum's partner so we think it's easier and out of the way if we get a takeaway for dinner. We don't have them for dinner every night but we have them more than enough. Maybe have one a month for a treat though.
* STOP pigging out on sweets and chocolate. You know, my boyfriend and I are snuggled in bed watching TV and we just gravitate to eating crap.
* Replace the sweets and chocolate with fruit and vegetables
* Cut down on fizzy drinks. My boyfriend and I have a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi Max everyday because it's easier than keep going downstairs refilling out cups of with water or juice.
* Drink more water
* Drink more green tea. This is what a lot of Chinese people drink because it helps with headaches to depression and also it's great for weight loss as it is believed the antioxidants catechins and caffeine speeds up metabolism. I used to drink a few cups of tea a day at the beginning and middle of the year then I stopped.
* Drink lukewarm fresh lemon water in the morning. It gets your metabolism going and work faster.
* Drinking fresh lemon water is detoxing for the body as well as good for speeding you metabolism up.
* Make my meals a smaller more sensible portion
* MOVE MORE! Because I don't move enough.
* Join the gym with my sister in law & try to go for daily walks

Katie Hopkins' documentary was a kick in the gut wake up call for me, she says eat less more move and that's going to be my motto but like EAT LESS (CRAP) MOVE MORE! Because the eat less comes across as if losing weight means starve yourself but that is no way right or healthy. As soon as you start eating properly again the weight will pile back on and maybe even more if you starve yourself. My mum did that and as soon as she started eating again even if it wasn't lots of crap she still gained a lot of weight.

I think my plan is pretty decent and easy to follow. Maybe some of you could join in with me? If you feel like it then leave comments on my diet posts of your progress, or make your own posts and link me to them or tell me on my social media's which are linked at the bottom of this post.
